Just Us Girls is a non-profit fund raising organization that raises money to help breast cancer victims in Monmouth and Ocean County, NJ. Since its inception, we have assisted over 350 women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer throught the profits of our annual walk held each year in October. In addition to making monetary contributions to women who have financial needs, we also provide spiritual and physical comfort to the women in our community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The group was founded by five women whose lives were in some way touched by breast cancer -- a friend, a family member, a friend's mother, according to the organization's president, Carol Marion. "We wanted to do something to help. So we first started the race with the belief that women can raise awareness of the disease and have fun at the same time," she said. Click here to learn more about this year's race. We also have an annual scholarship program to provide support to college students whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. The monetary gifts that Just Us Girls has provided have allowed women who have been diagnosed breast cancer to pay their rent, make a mortgage payment, stay home from work a little longer, pay auto insurance, put a down payment on a used car and to even buy school clothes for their children and Christmas presents.
